Investigation criminal image: We created a police document of the victim Dimitri Ruskonv in order to show the stages of the police investigation. We created this on a word document using a template online which we could develop on Word. After this we printed it off and used it in some scenes to create tension and suspense. |
Heels:
In our trailer we are planning to use red heels in order to present our killer as sexy and feminine. However, by using red heels this means we are conforming to the expectations of horror through the colour 'red'. This is significant because as well as the red heels presenting our character as feminine she is also presented as a killer.
Knife:
We wanted to include a knife as our main weapon in the trailer due t the fact it goes against stereotypes of a female killer. Our trailer is psychological which the knife really emphasises. The knife also conforms to the other props we have used in our trailer, for example the red heels and lipstick symbolise blood and gore which we used to hint at the killers killing techniques.
Nail Varnish
We wanted to include nail varnish as it specifically represents females. It is a stereotypically feminine cosmetic which we though would add to the suspense of our trailer as it confuses the audience. The audience may think the female putting on the nail varnish will be the victim of the film, but this is wrong. The fact we've specifically used red nail varnish represents our femme fatale as sexualised. This is what we wanted to present in our horror in order to attract both male and female audience members.
Lipstick
We included the lipstick for similar reasons to the nail varnish. However, we feel as though the lipstick created a more iconic picture that will remain in the audiences head. We also planned on making the lipstick scene the first shot in our trailer in order to grip our audience. Lipstick, like the nail varnish represents our killer as being feminine and therefore sexualised.
Balaclava
We thought a balaclava would be important to use in our trailer because although our killers face is the iconic image of our film, it's still significant because when she commits her crime she dos it without revealing her identity. This also adds to the suspense of our trailer as we included this in the face paced shots at the end of our trailer.
